Whatever Happened Five Minutes Ago

The whole “whatever happened five minutes ago was the biggest thing that ever happened” school of making sports arguments has to be one of the most annoying sports media trends of this decade.

Amen, brother! As far as I can tell, sports media do three things:

  1. Make predictions.
  2. Second-guess coaches and game officials.
  3. Blow things out of proportion.

None of which add to anyone’s understanding or enjoyment of the games . . .

You forgot about the female sideline reporters who do nothing more than take up space and provide us with useless information that we honestly couldn’t care less about. Example: Suzy Kolber on Monday Night Football. There’s a chick who represents all that’s wrong with Title IX. That job should have gone to someone who actually played the game or at the very least is good at what they do. Suzy Kolber . . . what a waste of space!!!

Brandon, you may need some diversity training. But since you bring it up, Michelle Tafoya is far worse than Suzy Kolber. Less attractive, and she’s always smirking like she knows something funny that nobody else knows.

As far as providing useful information, you’re right, I can’t remember a single interesting thing Suzy Kolber ever said. But then I can’t remember a single interesting thing Joe Theismann ever said either.

No wait, there was one thing.

Yeah I just hate even mentioned Tafoya since she’s so god-awful hideous looking. And you’re right Theisman doesn’t do much for the booth as well, but he sure as hell thinks he does.
