No, I don’t really agree. WFH has tradeoffs like everything else although LI posters tend to gloss over those. For example, it’s easier for me to communicate with someone who works 10 feet away from me than if I’m at home and they’re at some distant point in time and space. Synchronous vs. asynchronous. I also glean a lot of valuable project information from conversations floating around if my team members are in close proximity. I can’t do that from the South Pole. There are other tradeoffs. Vatican Splendors at the Reagan Library

 

They had a funny rule in the Vatican exhibit: photos were okay but no selfies. I could stand in front of an artifact and have someone take a picture of me, but I could not take a picture of myself. I asked one of the docents about the reason for that. “Does it detract from the holiness of the enterprise or what?” “No, people taking selfies tend to lose track of their surroundings and start banging into the art.”   I bought a souvenir T-shirt for $32 in the gift shop. I tend to distrust power unchecked by competition. This makes me particularly suspicious of federal policies that take a strong role in directing private decisions. I am much more willing to have state and local governments exercise power in a variety of ways than for the federal government to undertake similar actions.
