The Blog of Anne Frank
2 Sep 2004 / Hostile Witness. . . everything can be taken from a man except one thing: the last of the human freedoms–to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way.
In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart.
On this date — September 2 — in 1944, Anne Frank was among 1,019 people on the 68th and last train from Holland to Auschwitz. Anne and others hiding with her had been betrayed and captured a month before and held in the Westerbork detention center.
The Frank family had gone into hiding two years earlier, in July 1942, after Anne’s sister, Margot, received a call-up notice to report for deportation to a labor camp.
Anne was at Auschwitz for two months, then at Bergen-Belsen, where she and Margot died four months later of typhus, just a few weeks before the camp was liberated.
Anne’s father, Otto, was liberated from Auschwitz by the Russian Army on January 27, 1945. His wife, Edith, had died the previous day.
Otto Frank was taken first to Odessa and then to France before being allowed to return to Amsterdam. He did not learn the whereabouts of his daughters until October 24, when he received a letter informing him they had died at Bergen-Belsen.
This unfortunately was not an unusual family trajectory for European Jews in the 1940s. Anne Frank is remembered from among millions of others because she maintained a blog — I mean diary — so that her experiences, what she did, the thoughts she had, and everything she suffered was not lost.
I suppose the same holds true for everyone, with or without a diary — nothing is lost, nothing can be undone . . . and it may be possible for a life that appears to be quite pointless at the time to attain a meaning, a purpose, even through suffering, failure and death . . .

Hi Annonumus -
You sound like a very interesting person. It certainly sounds like you could be the reincarnation of Anne Frank. Sometimes I suspect that my wife is the reincarnation of Heinrich Himmler…

I have read many things about anne. i do not believe that she can be reincarnated! she is living beyond her death, like she wanted. It is very sad that she and margot couldn’t live about 1/2 a month longer, because they would’ve lived through the holocaust!

I’ve read her diary several times, and it’s just so incredibly hard to bear the fact that the stuff that went on during the HOlocaust were real events. Her diary was really sad and all, but i loved reading it, because you really got to realize HOW someone felt, WHEN they were actually experienceing it all. Sorry, I had to write that! I found this site and had to post my opinion.

my name is Tylor Richardson.
My middle school just read the play of Anne Frank,
and as soon as I heard the name, I knew it ment SOMETHING.
ever since I was little, I’ve told my mom somethings in another language[ Geraman I belive. and I only speak english, so i do no know what I am saying], I’ve written out things, that i later found were EXATLY what Anne wrote in her diary, word for word. I have visons[or as some say, flashbacks] of sitting in a room quietly, writing in a diary. And I live in California, I’ve only just recently seen pictures of the Annex.
So,
Call it whatever youd like.
I’m kind-of scared,
even though I shouldnt be.

Dear My good friend,
I’ve seen many good things and bad things that happen on some of your books… I feel unhappy about these horrible deaths and bad news…I hope your true friend Hannah Goslar is well as well as you are. I’ve only read these books about you: The Memories of Anne Frank as well as The Diaries of a Young Girl-Anne Frank. I hope you are well up in the sky(heaven) where you release your stress and don’t worry about these problems in the earth. Sometimes I say to myself, ” Why must Anne Frank go through these terrible disasters and heart-breaking emotins?” I was here on 2/10/07… You are my hero Anne Frank

Thank you for whoever posted the blog about Anne Frank. It helped me a lot when I had to do a report on Anne Frank. Anne Frank was very young when she died, I think that was really sad. That is why I hate the person who told on her. If the person who didn’t tell on her I think she would’ve lived for an even longer time. If she was alive right now do you know she’d be 78 years old?
Thank You for Anne Frank’s blog you biggest fan,

i just finished reading anne franks diary. its a real thought-provoking book. anne is a fantastic writer. although she uses a lot of big words, i still admire her personalities.
whoever wrote that “anne sucks!” comment, for your information its not as bad as you think.
its kinda ironic that a hundred years after anne wrote her diary people from all over the world would be interested to read. and i mean, it is interesting!
i hope someone would email me, cause now im really sad.

I dont think anybody is a reincarnation of Anne Frank. She is living life after death in the Lord’s hands. I think that people who bash her and other Jews are a disgrace. You souldnt judged people because in the end, thats all they are. People. Like you and me. So yea. Give some respect. dont go on her site just to bash her. Obviously you need to get a life and dont patronize someone else’s. Now I DARE you to challenge me because alot of people will back me up.

Hello,
My name is Micaela and at my school we just got finished reading and watching the movie and the book. This week we are going to watch and listen to the afterward movie and story when she gets takin to the concentration camps. When we watched the movie it was so good but, it was also very sad too. I just wish that she could’ve stayed alive for a long time so she could finish out her life. I was wondering…. how was it like during the two years of hiding? And, was it hard to be so quiet during the day, and not being able to go outside? How was it like when she had to pack only the things that meant the most to her? And wearing all of her clothes. That must have been very hard and very hot! Well i will come back tomorrow. I have to go to bed. Can somebody answer my questions?? Maybe someone that is a survivor form the Holocaust.
Love,
Micaela!

oi….

hey ppl my grandma knew anne frank. she was in Auschwitz when anne came into the camp. they stayed in the same bunk area. my grandma said when Margot died and anne found out the life seemed 2 drain out of her. my grandma said she died a few days later. unfortunately it was only six weeks before the war ended. my grandma says that i am alot like anne. i love to read and right, i love nature, and i always look on the bright side of things because even in the darkest places there is light.
i dont care if u dont believe me i just wanted to tell fellow anne and margot mourners/fans.
peace out!!

EVER SINCE I SAW THE “ORIGIONAL” MOVIE OF {ANNE FRANK) I NEVER THOUGH PEOPLE HAD THE CAPACITY TO BE SO COLD HARTED AND BRUTIAL. BUT I WAS VERY YOUNG AND INNOSENT, I THINK I WAS TEN OR THIRTEEN AT THE TIME AND IT AMMAZES ME THAT ALL THAT ANNE EXPEREANCED SHE CAN STILL HAVE “FAITH IN MAN KIND.” ANYONE OF US WOULD BE BITTER AND ANGRY. ANNE WAS AND IS “TRUELY A CHILD OF GOD” AND THIS IS ALL THAT GOD EXPECTS OF US,KEEP THE LOVE AND BOOT THE HATE. dcsp hoboken n.j.

Hi!

did you know that some ppl don’t think the holocoust really happended!!!
that is why others who know it really did happen are trying to educate those who don’t believe it really happened!!
that is so cool
PS Anne, you are so awsome i can’t believe how you went threw all that you did
and Otto Frank, thanks for publishing Anne’s diary if it wasn’t for you, no one would have known about anne
PSS what about all the other kids that were in the holocoust, they should get a bit of respect too

I believe that it is possible to recall past lives. I have very vivid recollections of being a prisioner and finally escaping on a bus. These visions are very clear. As a young girl, the Diary of Anne Frank was my favorite book that I have ever read. I lived in the Netherlands for 3.5 years. My father-in-law was a neighbor of Anne in Amsterdam. I took a train to Germany and I couldn’t leave fast enough. But, I would never claim to be Anne’s reincarnate… but perhaps someone out there is? The world is full of mystery.

I first read the Diary Of Anne Frank years ago - when in school - and I have since reread it and many other books on the subject. Anne was a very couragious young woman at a time when the world was at war (not much has changed since, no? War is hell for all concerned!) and compared to many her age these days - she was very, very articulate. Much can be learned from her.

i feel bad for what happend i read the book and watched the movie. it is horrible for what the germans did. im german and its a discrase. people shouldnt do that just because they think oh there jews they deserve to get what they get because they are jews. people cant help or choose were they are born or if they are jews or german or american.it dosnt matter we all have a heart eyes mouth nose, we are all the same!!! my dad always says ether every one is specail or no one is dont hate someone because there diverent then you. wemon, men, and, children did not deserve to be treated this way, and they still dont. anns dairy proves it!!! if she was a live to day she would probly be a great person and leader.
im only 13 but i do no its rong and people should try to be beter then they realy are for the children so they grow up being good people and leaving in a good world

It’s amazing to me that the diary survived, that it was published and that so many people have read it, and yet so little changes. To read the words of that child, to see the world so beautiful and so broken at once, is an amazing experience. In her diary, our eyes and hearts are open to what it is to be innocent, to be brutalized, terrorized and murdered for no reason. It happens to children everyday, all over the world. Pedophilia, child abuse, neglect, abortion, abandonment - these are things that are brought onto children which we can prevent. But we don’t. It is right to lament the death of Anne Frank, to wonder what would have become of her if she had survived. But what of the others? I think this diary speaks for every child, at every time, no matter what awful thing they must press on through.
God bless the children.

Reincarnation? are you crazy? There are plenty of spirits out there that would Love to deceive you to think you are someone. Dont believe them, they are trying to deceive you. They play to be our friend and then you will walk away hurt.
Dont be a fool…

I read and studied her life and her family. I think she was a very brave girl. She was so young to die because she was only 16. I felt sorry for her father because he came home to no family. I learned all about her and her family but I have a few questions like, what it was like to made fun for being a Jew and what it would be like to be in hiding and being with another family in a tiny place and sharing a room, and having your sister die. ,Ashley

She was barely a teenager. Where did she get so much courage? She never complained, never blamed God for what was happening.
I think it’s good she got to experience being in love before she died.
I really respect this girl who went too early to Heaven.

i have alot of diffrent opinions about what happend during the holocaust. One for instance is that i wish that we could have prevented it from happening. I wish we would have known what kind of man hitler was and stopped him before he did anything. im in 8th grade going to 9th and i barley realized everything thats happened in the world like slavery and the holocaust and 9/11… how do we stop this maddness from getting any worst. Critisize me if u want but i wish everyone would realize how bad the world has come. Anne Frank was just a loving caring human being…. a young girl… who had to die because of what WE let happen… if she were alive today i’m sure she would have still told the people responsible that she forgave them. What happened was a tragedy, but if she can forgive them then i guess we can to.

Hitler, you are a very sad person. Are you lonely? People like you are best ignored. If the only way you can get any attention or feel that you have an impact on others is to laugh about the misfortunes or trgedies of others you must be very sad. I hope that you are never a parent because that would just be a tragedy in itself. Grow up sad person.

None of you are Anne Frank reincarnated. You only think you are because you’ve read about her and it gets to your head. Reincarnation is more than just having weird dreams or anything like that. Pay some respect for the dead and keep your pointless comments to yourself.
