I am reminded of the fine poem by JOE M:
LOSERS
by Joe M.
Losers see the winners,
finishing the race.
They see the tickertape and
that smiling, stinging face.
They feel the empty waves of glory,
all go washing by.
Yet they continue on determined,
though only they know why
Actually, too bad…I was looking forward to USC giving O-State a beating.
GL, it’s not exactly The Waste Land, but it’s not bad. True to his credo, Joe M. hasn’t let the plaudits bestowed on Eliot and others dissuade his own efforts at versification.
