Reading an excerpt from the tray liner at KFC:
We plate your food while it’s still hot, and serve it at the peak of flavor perfection.
“Tell me something I don’t know,” my son says.
“I didn’t know that ‘plate’ was a verb.”
“That means that they put the food on a plate.”
“I know what it means, but if you look up ‘plate’ in the dictionary, is it going to say that it’s a verb? ‘We plate your food, tray your plates and cup your drinks.'”
“We have to cup our own drinks.”
