This is not a blog.
It’s a website populated by fictional characters, whose writing should not be taken as expressing the opinion of any real person, company or organization.
It’s a work of entertainment. If you’re not entertained, read something else.
Even when the author of a post is a real person, fact and fiction are intermingled, and are not always clearly labeled, so don’t spend a lot of time trying to figure it out.
In 2015, law enforcement deaths were less than half of what they were in 1974. In fact, although the population was 3/4 larger last year than it was 55 years ago, there were about as many law enforcement deaths in 2015 as there were in 1960. In other words, police are safer under Obama than they were under either Reagan or the Bushes.
Moreover, perpetrators in police deaths tend to be white rather than black.
Meanwhile, even has violent crime has been trending down in recent years, the number of people killed by law enforcement officers has increased. While police kill more whites than blacks in sheer numbers, those killings seldom if ever occur in upscale communities. Thus, in addition to race, income seems to be a factor.
Still, in terms of relative racial demographics thus far in 2016, blacks have been MORE THAN TWICE as likely to be killed by law enforcement officers than are whites.
