Get The L Out is critical of the trans ideology. They say, quite rightly, that it is erasing lesbians, both by transing young lesbians and turning them into ‘men’ and by saying that anyone can be a lesbian, even if you have a penis. So they turned up at Pride Cymru with banners saying ‘Lesbians don’t like penises’ – yes, this apparently needs to be said in 2022 . . . And what happened? They were ejected by police. By those Pride-enforcing cops of 21st-century Britain. This essentially means it has become a risky endeavour to publicly declare that you are same-sex attracted, that you are a homosexual. Whatever Happened to Tomboys?

 

“Tomboy,” when I was a kid, was a word that you heard all the time to refer to girls who preferred wearing jeans and climbing trees to more traditional girlish attire and activities. Probably most of them grew up to be heterosexual women, some of them grew up to be lesbians . . . I wish them all the best. (Of course there were also boys who didn’t like sports and other boyish activities although I don’t remember a polite term that we used for them.) Whatever happened to tomboys? We Will All Be Gay in 2054?

 

A recent Gallup poll shows that less than 1% of Americans born before 1946 identified as LGBT. Now, according to the poll, 2.6% of Baby Boomers consider themselves LGBT; 4.2% of Gen Xers do; 10.5% of Millennials do, and 20.8% of Gen Zers do. This all makes less sense given that the Ls, Gs and Bs are very different from the Ts and shouldn’t all be lumped together, but that said, Bill Maher comments: Which means if we follow this trajectory, we will all be gay in 2054. Transgender runner CeCe Telfer ruled ineligible for US Olympic trials — nypost.com Yes, that’s because he’s a man trying to compete against women. Can he still try out for the men’s Olympic team? Granted, that would be more difficult. To give you an idea, Telfer ran the 400m hurdles as a man for two years at Franklin Pierce University and was ranked 390th among men’s Division II athletes in that event. Note that I said Division II. The best athletes compete in Division I. He was 390th in Division II, i.e., a complete nobody. In 2019, he won a national championship in the women’s 400m hurdles (which by the way are 6 inches lower than men’s hurdles, 30 inches instead of 36). By a second and a half. Not even close. On this date, May 6, in 1954, in Oxford, England, 25-year-old medical student Roger Bannister became the first athlete to break the four-minute mile, finishing with a time of 3 minutes and 59.4 seconds. In other news, there’s currently a controversy over whether or not transgender girls and women should be allowed to compete against biological girls and women in sporting events. To that debate, we add a few more facts: The current men’s world record for the mile run is 3:43:13 by Hicham El Guerrouj of Morocco. The current boys’ high school record for the mile is 3:53:43 by Alan Webb. High school boys have been running sub-four-minute miles since at least the 1960s. The current women’s world record for the mile run is 4:12:33 by Sifan Hassan of the Netherlands. Did you know that March 31 is International Transgender Day of Visibility:? I didn’t know it either until today when someone posted an announcement on a corporate message board. It’s not even that new. It started in 2009. As Joe Biden would say, here’s the thing: 1) Everybody plays by the same rules. 2) Do whatever you want but don’t feel like you have to bash everyone over the fucking head with it. Three writers produced 20 intentionally outlandish academic papers and submitted them to the best peer-reviewed journals associated with fields of scholarship loosely known as “cultural studies” or “identity studies” (for example, gender studies) or “critical theory.” Seven of the papers were accepted for publication and seven more were still under review when the authors elected to end the experiment. Their point would seem to be that scholarship in these fields is based less upon finding truth and more upon attending to social grievances. George Eliot is a transgender author whose work was previously unfamiliar to this reviewer. Ha, kidding! It’s hard to think of new things to say about old books, but if you appreciate the novel as an art form, or you think you might appreciate the novel as an art form if you gave it a chance, you should read Middlemarch. What it is about? At 800+ pages, it’s about a lot of things: life in rural England in the 1830s, the status of women, the bonds of matrimony, idealism, self-interest, religion, hypocrisy and politics. It’s about the heroism of ordinary lives.
