It’s getting hard to find a restaurant without a TV set anymore. Evidently, Americans don’t like to leave home if it means being away from television, even for an hour or so.
Now, you can watch TV in your car on the way to the restaurant, and watch TV at the restaurant when you get there. Walks to and from the vehicle can be scheduled during commercial breaks.
What a country!
The restaurant we’re selected for lunch is showing an Atlanta Falcons football game.
“I like the Falcons,” my son says. “But I like the Eagles better. I like teams with bird mascots.”
“How about the Ravens,” I say. “Do you like the Ravens?”
“How can you say you like teams with bird mascots if you don’t like the Ravens?”
“The raven is an independent bird that freaks people out. The eagle is a national symbol.”
