Climate and Environmental Justice for Ignorant Bigots

When @KamalaHarris and I were elected, we vowed to enact the most ambitious climate and environmental justice campaign in American history. That’s exactly what we’ve done. — Joe Biden (@JoeBiden) June 25, 2023 “Climate and environmental justice”? What is that and how much does it cost? Are we being atmospherically sodomized by ignorant climate change deniers? Read more →

There Were Earthquakes Before Climate Change?

The 1556 Shaanxi earthquake occurred in the early morning of Jan. 23, 1556 in Huaxian, Shaanxi during the Ming dynasty. Modern estimates put the direct deaths from the earthquake at over 100,000, while over 700,000 migrated away or died from famine and plagues, which summed up to a total loss of 830,000 people in Imperial records. It is one of the most fatal earthquakes in China, in turn making it one of the top disasters in China by death toll. Call me Nostradamus, but if this event happened on Jan. 23, 2023, it would be almost universally blamed on “climate change.” Read more →

Climate Change: Is There Anything It Can’t Do?

The recent rainstorms here in California are “proof that the climate crisis is real and we have to take it seriously,” according to our governor, Gavin Newsom. Because we never in history had rainstorms until very recently. He’s not very smart. If we got no rain this winter, he would have blamed that on “climate change” too. Read more →

Nobody Believes in Anything. Problem?

I get a daily email newsletter from the New York Times, in which one of this week’s entries was a conversation with John Schwartz, a Times reporter who focuses on the climate. If Schwartz has any qualifications on the subject of climate science like, say, a relevant degree or something, he modestly omits it from his Times bio. Much of the Pacific Northwest is blanketed in snow. Texas continues to endure frigid weather and electricity outages. Another winter storm is spreading across much of the country. How is this consistent with global warming? Well, as Schwartz “explains” it, when temperatures go up, that’s a sign of global warming, and when temperatures go down, that’s also a sign of global warming. He adds, “We’ve always had floods, fires and storms, but climate change adds oomph to many weather events.” “Oomph”!? Follow the science!   Nobody believes anything from the media anymore,… Read more →

See You in Hell, John Kerry

[See You in Hell is a feature by our guest blogger, Satan — PE] John Kerry: "We only have nine years to avoid a climate catastrophe." Everyone: "Will you start by giving up your private jet and mansion in Martha's Vinyard?" John Kerry: pic.twitter.com/RxnlBvb8a3 — Daily Caller (@DailyCaller) February 19, 2021 He also has a dozen cars, a couple of yachts and about 5 other houses as well. He has the carbon footprint of a medium-size town. Maybe some personal restraint would buy the rest of you fools 10 years instead of just 9. No, actually it wouldn’t because the Paris Accords that he’s so anxious to get back into ensure that even if the one country that Kerry may actually have some control over went to zero emissions tomorrow, it doesn’t solve the global problem because the Paris Accords give China the right to keep spewing crap into the… Read more →

Greta Thunberg

I don’t like being lectured by children . . . because they’re dumber than I am, less experienced than I am, and have nothing interesting to say. (With rare exceptions. John Stuart Mill, for example.) You might not object to Greta Thunberg being terrified and programmed for political advantage because you like the positions she’s espousing, but it would be just as easy to program a child to espouse positions that you find abhorrent and then what would you have to say? Whoever is doing this does not have the child’s best interests at heart, in my opinion. President Trump responded to the Thunberg speech via Twitter and was widely condemned for mocking a child. She seems like a very happy young girl looking forward to a bright and wonderful future. So nice to see! https://t.co/1tQG6QcVKO — Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) September 24, 2019 If you put a 16-year-old girl… Read more →

Would You Bet Your Paycheck on a Weather Forecast for Tomorrow?

Would you bet your paycheck on a weather forecast for tomorrow? If not, then why should this country bet billions on “global warming” predictions that have even less foundation? — Thomas Sowell (@ThomasSowell) September 5, 2019 Read more →

What Causes Hurricanes?

We can’t blame it on white supremacists? When we talk about a climate crisis this is what we mean. Our people are in danger. And it’s only going to get worse. We have no choice but to pass a Green New Deal. https://t.co/jbtnlvDsYH — Bernie Sanders (@BernieSanders) September 2, 2019 Read more →

Global Warming is Starting to Affect Me Personally

We have two refrigerators at the office and neither one of them is dispensing any ice this afternoon. The ice dispensers make a noise but no ice is to be had. Is this due to global warming? I’ve been skeptical about the effects of global warming until today, when it started to affect me personally . . . View image | gettyimages.com Read more →

Climate Change is Making People More Stupid

(HealthDay News) — Add another possible woe to the growing list of consequences of climate change: Kidney stones. A new study of American cities suggests that rising temperatures may increase the number of people who develop the painful urinary obstructions. — Will a warmer climate mean more kidney stones? – MSN Healthy Living You have to read all the way down to the second-to-last sentence of the article to find this: The study uncovered a connection between higher temperatures and risk of kidney stones, but didn’t prove cause-and-effect. The article implies cause and effect only to fess up right at the end and admit that there is no cause and effect. In the absence of cause and effect, what exactly is the point? In the epilogue of War and Peace, a peasant notices a “connection” between smoke and locomotives and infers cause and effect: the smoke causes the locomotive to… Read more →

Divorce is Bad for the Planet

Al, Tipper Gore Shock Friends With Divorce Announcement — ABC News As if the burden of divorce weren’t bad enough, people with failed marriages can be blamed for global warming, according to a study by Michigan State University. Divorced couples use up more space in their respective homes, which amounts to to 38 million more rooms worldwide to light, heat and cool, noted the report. And people who divorced used 73 billion kilowatt-hours more of electricity and 627 billion gallons of water than they would otherwise in 2005. Dissolving a marriage also means doubling possessions, from the lowly can opener to the SUV. The report, however, did not estimate how many more natural resources the children of shared-custody parents consume by getting birthday and holiday gifts twice. Nor did it count the greenhouse gases spent to shuttle kids between their pair of energy-hogging households. — CNET News Read more →

What if the Amount of Fog Stays Exactly The Same?

The Bay Area just had its foggiest May in 50 years. And thanks to global warming, it’s about to get even foggier. — “Get ready for even foggier summers,” July 6, 2009   The sight of Golden Gate Bridge towering above the fog will become increasing rare as climate change warms San Francisco bay, scientists have found. — “Fog over San Francisco thins by a third due to climate change,” Feb. 15, 2010 Read more →
